The signature make-up style of Frances Krol can be captured in two words:
Imperfect perfect. ”I love it when something is a bit off;
A natural pretty make-up with a twist: with a colourful lip or with a graphic eye”.
The city of Amsterdam is her biggest inspiration. “Amsterdam is the avant garde and full of life. There is always something going on. The eclectic mix of people, their crazy cool street style fashion and the vibrant night life are a constant source of inspiration for me”.
Frances got in touch to the art of make-up thanks to famous hair and make-up artist and aunt Eva Copper.
“When i was a young girl i was surrounded by glossy magazines and beautiful make-up products and i was instantly mesmerised.
I remember vividly the feeling i got when she first straightened my hair. On that moment I felt like a totally different person. I knew from that day on that i wanted to achieve that magical effect of a make-over on other people.”
“In 2006 after receiving my propedeuse Communication and Multimedia Design I decided to take a leap of faith and applied for the Make-up school at House of Orange.
Because even though I enjoyed designing, my passion for make-up was much bigger.”
Since that day Frances has been working as a make-up artist in the Dutch fashion industry: Doing make-up for important fashion shows, collaborating on editorial shoots and working for fashion brands on their campaign shoots.
Always trying to bring the art of make-up to a new level.
